Chemical Industry Application
Most of the chemical fluids in the chemical industry process are acid, alkali or flammable and explosive fluids. Therefore, in the chemical factory manufacturing equipment, special attention must be paid to the delivery of dangerous fluids. Correct mechanical equipment should be used to ensure a safe operating environment and high-efficiency production process, so chemical pumps can be one of the important equipment in chemical process production. PTCXPUMP sealless magnetic drive pumps are widely used in chemical fluid transportation or laboratory applications in the chemical industry. For acid-base fluids or high and low temperature fluid characteristics, we can provide pumps that meet user needs.
Main Types of Pumps Used in the Chemical Industry
Centrifugal Pump: Centrifugal pump is the most common type of pump in the chemical industry. It relies on the centrifugal force generated when the impeller rotates to guide the liquid into the center of the impeller, and then throw it out from the impeller along the circumference to transfer the fluid. The frictional loss is small so it can achieve high efficiency, and the structure is simple so it is easy to operate and maintain. The operating cost is usually more economical than other types of pumps. Centrifugal pumps are suitable for most low viscosity fluid applications.
Positive Displacement Pump: It pumps a fixed volume of flow every time it moves, which means that the flow generated per revolution can be calculated with high precision. According to the operating principle, it can be roughly divided into reciprocating piston pumps and rotary gear pumps, etc., both of which rely on vacuum suction to suck fluid from a low pressure into a cylinder or a casing, and then use the piston or gear to apply pressure to the fluid to make it flow to the high pressure. Positive displacement pumps can handle high viscosity fluids more efficiently than centrifugal pumps. However, due to its internal design, flow is restricted and maintenance is more difficult.
Diaphragm Pump: Diaphragm pump is also a type of positive displacement pump. The diaphragms are equivalent to the heart of the pump, and the two diaphragms connected by a shaft. The shaft drives the diaphragms back and forth to form a chamber that sucks in and out fluid through the pump. Since the diaphragm is considered a direct sealing element, allowing the pump to transfer, compress, and evacuate the medium without a lubricant. Also because of its good sealing performance, it is suitable for transferring all kinds of acid, alkali and high-viscosity liquids containing suspended impurities.
Turbine Pump: A turbine pump is a centrifugal pump that has a turbine-liked impeller with radially oriented teeth to move liquids. Turbo pumps combine the versatility of centrifugal pumps with the high discharge pressure of positive displacement pumps. They are often used in high head but relatively low-volume applications, but turbine pumps are not suitable for conveying impurity-containing liquids.
There are countless types of pumps, and each has its own application according to different characteristics. Of course, some types of pumps that are limited when dealing with corrosive or impurity liquids.
Pumps used in the chemical industry should have no doubts about leakage, such as PTC-100 ~ PTC-251 sealless magnetic drive pumps, which can operate under harsh conditions.
The chemical industry is undoubtedly the industry which most dependent on pump, and the acid and base corrosion is the main problem of chemicals, so choosing a reliable and right pump is very important to ensure the safety of the process and operators, and it is necessary to choose a pump suitable for chemical media to effectively avoid corrosion problems.
PTCXPUMP sealless magnetic drive pump is used in the chemical industry to provide you with the best solution to transfer fluid. The design without mechanical seal can effectively avoid leakage, and the material is GFR-PP and CFR-ETFE, which has excellent corrosion resistance and is suitable for transporting highly corrosive liquid such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid and acetic acid or flammable and explosive fluids. In the PTCXPUMP sealless magnetic drive pump series, PTC-100 ~ PTC-251 are for small applications, and PTC-400 ~ PTC-675 are for medium and large applications. There are various models to meet your various operating needs. PTCXPUMP is committed to becoming your preferred choice for resting assured to use pumps.
